In 2009, KidsFest Shellharbour was the Illawarra’s largest event aimed at young children aged 0-5 years and was heralded as a great success! We hosted over 3,500 people who attended 110 festival activities that took place across 64 festival sites. These sites included 2 major tourist attractions, over 45 community organisations, 6 churches, 3 schools and 1 major shopping precinct (Stockland Shellharbour

Local kids received most of the 6000 programs distributed throughout the City and we were delighted to welcome a large number of children visiting Shellharbour from other areas, especially for KidsFest. We had a very busy week distributing 2000 ‘KidsFest Passports’ with many activities finding the demand for registration and passports exceeded their expectations. Our sponsors included child friendly material in the fun KidsFest sample bags, 1400 were handed to families over the weeklong event which added to the festival fun.

KidsFest Shellharbour 2009 attracted significant interest from local media including two front page stories in the local free press, twenty three local paper stories in coverage on WIN News and ABC Illawarra and in child-focused publications. Visit our online photo gallery for some colourful snaps from the week long festival.

The event, held on Friday 23 October at Stockland Shellharbour, rewarded businesses and organisations who participate in KidsFest and who are being child friendly in Shellharbour.

KidsFest Shellharbour, a week long festival held in May this year, saw over 3,500 people attend one hundred and ten festival activities across sixty-four festival sites and was an outstanding success for children and the community.
