KIDSFEST SHELLHARBOUR - CHILD FRIENDLY BUSINESS AWARDS 7/10/11
Child friendly businesses in Shellharbour City to be honoured at the
Shellharbour Child Friendly Business Awards, hosted by “KidsFest Shellharbour”.
The event, will be held between 1pm to 2pm on Friday 7 October, at Ravensthorpe Tongarra Rd Albion Park. It recognises businesses and organisations who participate in Kidsfest, and awards those who make a special effort to provide child friendly environments for their customers.
“KidsFest Shellharbour”, is a week long festival held in May each year. This year approximately 5,000 people attended over a hundred festival activities at numerous events held in Shellharbour City. The week was an outstanding success for children and the community.
Ann Lehmann, Artistic Coordinator for KidsFest Shellharbour, says; “The 'Child Friendly Business Awards' allows us to formally acknowledge those businesses and organisations who have contributed to celebrating Shellharbour as a child friendly city”.
Ann acknowledges the key role “Communities for Children Shellharbour”, funded by the Australian Government, plays in “KidsFest Shellharbour". “It's a fantastic, fun-filled festival which provides a great opportunity for families to connect with each other, and with business and services in the area”; she says.
After some children’s entertainment, nine awards will be presented in the following categories:

The awards are based on community feedback obtained from participating families.
This event will conclude with the launch of “KidsFest Shellharbour 2012”.
KidsFest Shellharbour 2012 will be held from 20 to 26 May for children 0-12 years of age next year..
